FINALE CLASSIC EAST - ENDURO

The Ex Nato Base (1019m asl.) is just the tip of the iceberg of a whole, complicated net of undergound tunnels. It was the actual base on the 509th Battalion USA from 1962 to 1992. Since it doesn't have that purpose anymore, it is now the starting point of some of the most thrilling enduro and freeride trails in the Finale's area.

40 minutes shuttle until Nato Base. We take the trail that leads to Colle Cravarezza, climb up a few tens of meters towards the Crestino path. Easy trail, nice flow, fast berms with some jumps, all immersed in a wonderful beech forest.

After a pleasant transfer on a gravel road we reach the middle section of the Supergroppo, this part is technical with a rock garden S3 in the final part.
Short transfer on a fire road to the Rocche Bianche, from here we will go into the path of the EWS 2017 Rocche Gianche that we will ride up to Vezzi san Filippo, a very fun trail with a series of tight bends that will test your technical skills!

We pedal about 5km on a flat asphalt road with no cars towards Magnone. 15 minutes of climb up to the panoramic point of the bric dei Monti (410m asl.) with immense panorama on the "golfo dell' Isola" of Bergeggi.
After a short pause, we take the Andrassa path, the first part gravel and then a quick mix of curves and straights with little steepness on a compact ground. We leave the path to manage the last climb of the morning and reach the restaurant where we can taste the typical Ligurian dishes.

We are now on the Manie plateau where the famous "24 hours of Finale" race is held every year.
After lunch we will ride a part of this circuit up to take one of the most panoramic trails in the world, the DH Donne that will take us to the heart of the wonderful Varigotti town where we will find a shuttle for the afternoon lift up to the NATO Base.

In the afternoon only downhill, by choice (based on energy left, customer requests and trail conditions) one of the flow trails from the NATO base.

FINALE LEGENDS: The Essential Experience

Finale Legends: The Essential Experience

"The 'greatest hits' of Finale Ligure, ridden on the very trails that saw the birth and rise of the Enduro World Series. This tour is a total mix of styles and terrains that will show you why Finale is the global Mecca of riding. We’ll start by warming up the brakes at Base Nato, a true Natural Bike Park: here you have 5 or 6 different lines ready to drop, packed with berms, jumps, compressions, and natural rollers where you can pump the bike through every bump and forget about the brakes.

Then we’ll switch gears on the Rollercoaster: 7 km of pure adrenaline, an endless 'natural bobsled' where you need to manage speed and power out of the corners. But watch out, because Finale knows how to get 'down and dirty': the tour moves to more physical sections with steep technical shoots and rock gardens where riding becomes slow and precise, almost trials-like, especially in the Ivolandia area. Here, we’ll ride the trails 'groomed' by Ivo, the legendary trail builder who has spent over 20 years caring for every rock and root to give you perfect lines. It’s the complete package: from high-speed flow to sections where you need focus and precision. As always, our guide will capture your most epic moments on photo and video, ready to be enjoyed over a cold beer at the end of the day!"

"Quality, Not Quantity" Philosophy

At MTB Italy, we believe the group makes the adventure. That’s why we guarantee small groups of maximum 7 riders + the guide, ensuring continuous assistance, safety, and an authentic experience away from the crowded big shuttles.

Technical Details & Requirements

  • Ideal for: All Mountain / Enduro bikes (140-160 mm travel recommended).

  • Required Level: S2/S3 (Intermediate - Advanced). Excellent bike control is required, and you must feel confident on demanding Red trails in European Bike Parks.

    • North American Riders: Ideal for riders comfortable on Blue Square / Black Diamond trails.

  • E-bike: Welcome! As this is a group tour, we ask that you maintain the group’s pace so we can enjoy the experience together.

  • Tour Pace: Remember, this is a guided tour, not a race! Everyone is free to descend at their own speed while respecting the group's timing and safety.

  • Vibe: The perfect mix between "letting go" on the flow and surgical precision on tech sections.

Daily Schedule

  • 08:30: Meet at our headquarters in Finale Ligure.

  • 09:00: Departure in the VAN or our legendary Land Rover Defender 4x4.

  • Morning: Depending on weather and ground conditions, the guide will strategically choose whether to start the session from Base Nato or the Rollercoaster area. The shuttle will support us all day (a brief effort on the pedals of 5 to 15 minutes might be required to reach the start of some trails).

  • 13:00: Lunch break at a typical tavern or farmhouse.

  • Afternoon: Technical flow on Toboga di Canova and technical/trials sections of Ivolandia.

  • 16:30 / 17:00: Return to base for the final beer and photo/video exchange.

Trails We Will Ride:

  • Morning: Base Nato, 115, Madre Natura, Fast H, Ingegnere.

  • Afternoon: Oribago, Margot, Toboga di Canova, Rollercoaster.

If the group is fast, our guide will be happy to add some extra trails to the program! (In case of closures due to maintenance, weather, or hunting, the guide will adapt the program choosing the best available options).

Useful Info & Gear

  • Lunch: Cost is approx. €18/20 per person (not included). The restaurant offers great options for vegetarians and celiacs (please inform the guide during the morning briefing!).

  • Protection: Helmet is mandatory (Open-face or full-face is at your discretion). Knee pads are highly recommended.

  • In Your Pack: Every rider must carry a spare inner tube. We strongly suggest bringing a waterproof/windproof jacket: at high altitudes, the temperature can be 8/10°C lower than on the coast!

BACKCOUNTRY OSIGLIA: The Flow Forest

Osiglia: The Flow Forest

"If you love that buttery flow that makes you feel at one with your bike, this is your ride. We start the morning in the pristine forests of Osiglia, north of Base Nato: a true natural playground awaits you! The Osiglia trails are packed with berms, rollers, and easy jumps designed for maximum fun and progression in total safety. The terrain is pure loam—a perfect carpet for letting the brakes go and finding your rhythm.

After a refreshing lunch by the lake, our Defender will shuttle us back up to 1,000 meters, where we’ll begin a long, fluid descent back to Finale along the area's most iconic trails. It’s the perfect day for those who want to enjoy the pure pleasure of riding without the stress of extreme technicality. As you carve through the turns, our guide will capture your best moments on video, ready to be shared and discussed over a cold beer at the end of the day!"

BACKCOUNTRY CASTELVECCHIO: The Heritage Tour

Castelvecchio: The Heritage Tour

"A true journey through time, blending the charm of Ligurian history with the thrill of technical and natural riding. We’ll start our adventure in our legendary Land Rover Defender 4x4, heading toward the 1,000-meter peaks of the Melogno Pass. From there, we’ll enter the majestic Barbottina Beech Forest: after about 30 minutes of pedaling through one of Europe’s most beautiful forests, we’ll reach the trailheads.

The terrain here is pure magic: deep forest loam, incredibly flowy, and packed with natural compressions. In the afternoon, the landscape changes dramatically as we enter the Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena area: you’ll find a perfect mix of technical sections on solid rock and berms designed to elevate your riding. This unique experience concludes in Zuccarello, among ancient porticoes and legends. As always, our guide will capture your best moves on photo and video, ready to be enjoyed together over a cold beer at the end of the day!"

Our "Quality, Not Quantity" Philosophy

At MTB Italy, we believe the group makes the adventure. That’s why we guarantee small groups of maximum 7 riders + the guide, ensuring continuous assistance, safety, and an authentic experience away from the crowds.

Technical Details & Requirements

    • North American Riders: This tour is ideal for riders comfortable on Blue Square / Black Diamond trails.

  • E-bikes: E-bike riders are welcome! As this is a group tour, it is required to maintain the group’s pace to share the best possible experience with your fellow riders.

  • Tour Pace: This is not a race! We take the time to enjoy the technical sections and the views.

Daily Schedule

  • 08:30: Meet at our headquarters in Finale Ligure.

NATO BASE to NOLI

From Bric dei Monti (410m asl.) you can enjoy a spectacular view of Savona, Spotorno but most of all, of Noli. Noli enjoyed a certain political independence for some periods in its history. Contacts and clashes with Genoa and other powers both maritime and inland are reflected in the complexity and abundance of civil, religious, military and many beautiful natural areas.

Shuttle of about 40 minutes up to NATO Base (1019m asl.). We take the path to Colla Cravarezza, from which we go up a few tens of meters onto the Crestino path. Easy trail, enjoyable flow, berms and some small jumps, immersed in a wonderful beech forest.

After a pleasant transfer on a gravel road we reach the Aia du Preve path, this part is characterized by easy passages in counter-slope on soft undergrowth terrain.
Short transfer on a fire road to the Rocche Bianche, from here we carry over Ca dei Gatti from where we will enjoy a first panoramic view of the entire area of Finalese. After a brief stop we follow the gravel road until we reach the Catena trail, a very fun and fast trail without any particular difficulties.

Short transfer on asphalt to Magnone. 15 minutes uphill to the panoramic point of the bric dei Monti with immense panorama on the "golfo dell' Isola" of Bergeggi.
After a short pause, we take the Andrassa path, an easy variant, first part on gravel and then entering a fast mix of curves and straights with little steepness on a compact ground.

We leave the path to ride the last climb of the morning and reach the restaurant where we can taste the typical Ligurian dishes.
We are now on the Manie plateau where the famous "24 hours of Finale" race is held every year.

After lunch we will ride a part of this circuit including the famous Togoga 24h to the panoramic point of Punta Crena above the bay of the Saracens (the spot that made Finale Ligure famous in the world). Beyond the Steghe tower we arrive at the "Semaforo" from where the Pellegrino trail starts, a characteristic panoramic route that will take us to the heart of the splendid Noli. During the descent there is the possibility, on request, to visit the Falsari cave (a beautiful natural cave overlooking the sea).

Way back of 10 km on paved coastal road ss. Aurelia up to Finale Ligure.

Return to Finale approx. at 16.00 / 17.00

CIAPIN TRAIL to VAL NAVA

Characterized by a wild and prehistoric environment, the Nava Valley is an ancestral valley hidden between Boragni and Val Cornei. The rock walls and the famous Strapatente cave make this area a peculiarity of the entire Finale. Welcome to the "Jurassic Park"!

Shuttle of about 40 minutes up to NATO Base (1019m s.l.m.). Take the path to Colla Cravarezza, uphill for a few tens of meters onto the Crestino trail (stage EWS 2016). Easy flow and fast trail, some berms and jumps characterize the first part, then gradually, the trail becomes steeper and more technical without exceeding an S2 + level.

At the junction with the Engineer's trail, we turn left for a pleasant transfer on a forest road to reach the central sector of the Supergroppo (stage EWS 2014). Once we arrive near the Cascina Strà we leave the Supergroppo to reach the Ciapin trail (stage EWS 2015) in just a few meters. Super fun and easy trail with 2 small double jumps in the middle and a series of berms until we reach Orco (350m s.l.m.).

Short transfer uphill to the cemetery, from where the last morning trail starts, the Val Nava trail (stage EWS 2017), which we will ride down to Boragni, the first part fast and wide, the second part narrow and technical with passages on rock S3.
From here return downhill on asphalt to Finale for lunch break.

At 2.00 pm shuttle for afternoon lift to the NATO Base.

In the afternoon only downhill, by choice (based on energy left, customer requests and trail conditions) one of the flow trails from the NATO base.

Return to Finale approx. at 16.00 / 17.00
